Mission Statement

The Heather Pendergast Fund has been established in the memory of Heather Pendergast. Its purpose is to assist the children of Volunteer Firefighters/EMS on Long Island who become stricken with a life threatening illness.

Heather is the daughter of Penny Pendergast and Ex-Chief Thomas Pendergast of the Massapequa Fire Department. At a young age, Heather was diagnosed with Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (SDS). She was then later diagnosed with cancer. Her courageous long battle was lost on October 30, 2008. Heather's smile and positive outlook inspired a lot of us in many ways. We felt it was only fitting to allow her name be the inspiration in this fund to help other children in unfortunate situations.

Thank you in advance for your help in our mission,

The Heather Pendergast Fund
We are a 501 (c) (3) charity
